The main attributes of high definition satellite television are: clarity of picture (no more snow or ghosting like you can get on analog sets), Dolby sound (for a three-dimensional sound experience, realistic colors with super-sharp images and widescreen (16:9) format similar to a movie screen, which enhances the TV experience.

You can get many options for channels, depending on what provider you decide to go with. Having a high definition tv helps. Also, when setting up the satellite antenna, make sure there are no obstructions to degrade the signal. Also, the signal will degrade some in bad weather.

the HD experience is relatively the same no matter what satellite tv provider you choose. The only difference might be the price, I suggest you find out what packages are offered by your local companies before investing any money in their service.
