What kind of technical skills do you put on a resume under "proficiency"?

Include programs in which you are well-versed. Do you know how to create a presentation in PowerPoint? Can you use CAD? Can you create Web pages, use HTML? Are you literate in programming languages or certified in specific areas? Do you know how to set up networks? Consider your skills and detail them accordingly.

This would include common computer software, such as Microsoft Office or Internet research. You can list technical assembly, editing of code or writing of documentation, in level of fluency of foreign languages.

It depends on what type of position you are looking to gain. Typically applicants will put their technical skills, i. e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus 1-2-3. Any skill that will make you stand out should go in that section.
