Carpal Tunnel syndrome is when the median nerve located in the wrist area becomes pressed or squeezed. The median nerve supplies feeling to the hand.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a repetitive stress injury. It's commonly suffered by those who spend long periods of time typing on a computer. In the wrist area is an area called carpal tunnel. The median nerve, which resides in the tunnel, is compressed. Symptoms caused by the compression include pain, numbness, and weakness in the thumb and fingers.

When nerves that run on the palm side of the wrist and hand become constricted due to over use of the extensor muscles of the hand. Symptoms can include a numbness or tingling in the wring and pinky finger.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a narrowing of the space within the hand and wrist that holds tendons, ligaments, and nerves. When this narrows it pinches on the nerves and causes pain, limited mobility, and tingling.
