If you are holding a child and they start any of this bad behavior, place them away from you and walk away. They will realize quickly that bad behavior, will get them no reaction good or bad. The other option is to put them in time out.

I believe in the old school when it comes do discipline. If a three year old bites you, bite him back. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

channel the energy into more constructive games which are interesting so that the motivation is deflected. Make sure that the games are enjoyed since this will make the kid change the way he/she socializes and eventually will focus in a different direction. The aggression need also to be observed since it may be imitated from those who give care.

Although punishment may be tempting, psychology has shown that punishment can lead to future problems. Your best choice will be to kindly but firmly express that the behaviour is wrong.
