Think about the stock market 'ticker' - it provides information about market prices and typically runs 15 minutes behind. In a fast market, there are so many trades and prices are moving so far that the 'ticker' cannot keep up. We call this big change in prices volatility. Combine that with rapid trades and you get a 'fast market.'

A fast market is one that is moving at the pace of a day trader. One must be watching the securities move throughout the day, and perhaps there is a rather large gain that day as well. News has hit world wide, and markets are moving at the pace of our technologically futuristic society.
