Is it common for someone's tailbone to be broken during labor?

A tailbone is not common to be broken during labor. There is another medical explanation for the tailbone to break. The tailbone does not have a part in labor you could have something wrong with your bones especially if you are an older mother.

While it is not common for someone's tailbone to be broken during labor, it does definitely have. The pressure of delivering a baby on the skeleton of the pelvis is immense and if there are any calcium deficits, the tailbone could break.

I would say it is not common to break your tailbone during labor. I've never been in labor but know plenty of friends and family that have and none of them broke their tailbones.

no this is not common. this is actually the first time I have ever heard of this. It seems if someone is small enough where there is a danger of this happening a c-section should be done.
