The size of a queen size quilt is 84 inches by 102 inches. In order to actually make a queen size quilt you would have to purchase a 90 by 108 inch roll of batting. So that you have it go down to the floor you would purchase a 120 by 120 inch roll of batting.

The average queen size quilt is 86" x 86". Handmade quilts are different. You want to measure the mattress it's being made for. Do you want it to hang to the floor or be a topper? Will it cover the pillows or go on top? Handmade quilts shrink. All this should factor into the size you make your quilt.

" Queen Size " is at least 60'' wide by 80'' long but no longer then 75'' wide. The first number (60'' x 80'') is Standard Queen.
