One possibility is hip dysplasia, where the muscles surrounding a dog's hip atrophy and the dog loses strength in the attached limb. You might notice this especially when the dog is standing up. Check with your vet to be sure.

Depending on age, this could be several things. Arthritis or nerves could be the answer. If it is only one leg, there could be nerve damage. Was there a recent injury? If it is a persistent occurrence, the best advice would be to get a vet appointment to diagnose the problem.

This can be normal. I have read that this is most common in terriers and white dogs. My wheaten terrier's legs shake when she's nervous or excited. Shaking can, however, indicate degenerative spinal disease or some other serious problem. Study your dog to see if it has any other unusual behaviors. When in doubt, consult your vet.

It may be something as simple as he pushed his muscles too far that day. However, if this is a continuing issue, it may be the sign of a more serious problem such as muscle deterioration or hip displasia. You should take your animal to the vet if the problem persists.

There are any number of possible reasons. The most likely is just a spasm, he may have ran into something or else overworked a mussel thus sending it into spasm. It could also be a neurological disorder like epilepsy which is treatable in many dogs with medication you should consult with a vet.
