A man's penis makes it really hard to pee sitting down. It tends to get in the way and they end up peeing all over the place. So they stand up in order to get it in the toilet!!
Its hard to say but many people seem to believe men just do it cause they can! Maybe way back when one guy had to pee so bad he did it standing up and then spread the word, who knows??
