If you are referring to humans, permanent incisors are the adult front teeth. So they usually erupt during childhood, in the front top and bottom gums, replacing the milk teeth.

The back teeth are permanent incisors. The front teeth do have second teeth where as the very back teeth once through are permanent.

Incisors should erupt at the top of the alveolar ridge (the gum) to the immediate left and right of the midline.
