What should I do if my dog pees on the furniture?

You should immediately take the dog outside so that it learns where the right place to pee is. Some suggest that rubbing a dogs nose in its pee will teach it not to repeat the behavoir. Spraying it with water from a spray bottle will also work. Be sure to reward it when it pees outside.

First step is too firmly let the dog know that it's behavior is not acceptable. I then use a combination of dishwashing detergent and water and lightly scrub the spot until the smell of urine has disapated. I then typically will follow up with plain, warm water to rinse and then spot dry the area with a clean towel.

You probably shouldn't let your dog on the furniture anymore. If your dog pees on your bed at night put the dog into a kennel at nighttime until it learns not to pee on the bed. You can purchase sprays that remove the odor from your furniture. Clean the spot with hot water and then spray that on.

You will obviously want to clean the furniture with an odor neutralizing chemical found at a pet store. You may also want to spay or neuter him. You should also put him/her on a strict feeding and bathroom schedule to help him/her control their bladder.
