What kind of clothing did they wear in ancient Rome?

Ancient Romans were well known for their togas. The colors of them and the materials they were made from varied greatly depending of a persons social class. An all white toga made from Egyptian linen showed you were of a higher social class. Whereas darker colored togas made from lesser materials were worn by the common people.

Most people in ancient Rome wore togas and sandals. It was not unusual to see men as well as women wear laurels in their hair.
