The Memory Tower is a steel centerpiece in the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) in Beijing, China. The five-story structure, which weighs thirty tons and rises through the stadium floor via hydraulics, was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The memory tower is a huge tower that is illuminated in red lights. It was used in the closing of the 2008 Summer Olympics. I'm not sure when the tower itself was built, to be honest I never heard of it until the end of the 2008 Olympics. It is however a mighty sight to behold.
