Well unlike most locksmithing method this one requires more force than finesse. A special key blank is used to shove the tumble up with a sharp blow to the key. While at the same time the tumble is turned. It can be tricky to do and doesn't work on all locks.

Well it is a basic method of forcing a set of tumblers into place by "bumping" it. A special key is made and is used to reach up inside the lock. Then the locksmith will turn the key as he tap it with a hammer. The impact causes the pins to temporarily slide up into place opening the lock.
