Covalent bonds have atoms sharing the electrons between them. While ionic bonds gives or takes electron(s) from the other atom.

Ionic bonds are bonds between two atoms which are assigned a formal charge, such as +1, or -2. These bonds are thought of as one atom giving an electron to, or taking an electron from another atom. In a covalent bond, the bonding electron or electrons are shared between to two atoms.
