Very high. Pancreatic cancer is one of the fastest spreading cancers and can be fatal in as little as 6 to 8 weeks after a diagnosis is made. The earlier the disease is caught the better chance at longer survival.

Pancreatic cancer is usually encountered late in its course and as such has usually spread within the retroperitoneum, the anatomic area of the pancreas. The death rate is virtually 100%.
