Myalgia is broken into two parts. Myo means muscle and algia meas having the condition of pain. So it means you have muscle pain in medical terminology. Fibro means fiber so fibromyalgia means condition of pain in the muscle fibers or muscle tissue.

Myalgia is a generic term for pain in a muscle or a group of muscles. It's a symptom of other diseases, not a disease in itself.
