Lysine is an amino acid which aids in building muscle tissue. It helps the body absorb calcium effectively and is important to aid in recovery from ingury or surgery. It also helps the body produce antibodies. Our bodies must get lysine from diet. Fish, legumes and cerel grains are the best sources. Supplements are also available.

The body requires lysine for the production of proteins which are important for metabolism and repairing and maintianing muscle and joints.
