You will need to treat the ingrown hair for a few days before you see it go away. Apply a hot compress twice a day for about 10 minutes. Then use an astringent over the area. Do not pick at it!

You can use a shaving cream that is specifically for sensitive skin. Change your shaving habits and do not shave too close. Exfoliate your skin by using products that does not contain alcohol. Treat the ingrown hairs you may already have by removing the hair with clean tweezers.

You can treat an ingrown facial hair by applying lotion to the infected area. This will soften the facial hair. Then, apply a low-dose antibiotic ointment. People who have oily skin are more suseptible to ingrown hairs. Attempting to control oily skin can be helpful.

Before you do anything in your face consult your dermatologist first so that they can correctly advice you on what you should do in your face.
