You will need to make an appointment with your dentist to have the impacted wisdom tooth removed. The pain associated with the impaction will go away after the removal of the tooth.

Your dentist will decide the best course of action for your impacted wisdom tooth. Some people do not need to have their wisdom teeth removed, regardless of its impaction. However, impacted teeth may cause other problems - pushing other teeth around, etc. You should definitely see your dentist and act on his recommendation.

If you have an impacted wisdom tooth, then your dentist will refer you to an oral surgeon. They will need to extract the tooth surgically.

Unfortunately the best option is usually to have it removed. If you choose not to, often times the remaining teeth will be puhed aside to make room for the wisdom tooth. On the up side, a wisdom tooth is in sorts, an extra. Removing it won't be detrimental to you.
