The biggest reason why dogs ever throw up is because they ate something they shouldn't have. Watch your dog carefully and if the vomiting continues past 24 hrs. take them to the vet because they could have parasites. Always make sure to give your dog plenty of water to keep them from getting dehydrated if they are vomiting frequently.

If your dog is throwing up phlegm it could be bronchitis or less likely a gastric issue. Stomach bile is frequently mistaken for phlegm. If your dog has a stomach upset but no food in their stomach they can throw up what looks like phlegm but is really mucus and bile from their stomach.

It's possible the dog has a stomachache, especially if phlegm is white and foamy. Give med-large dog tbsp of pepto bismal and small-med dog 1 tsp
