Trials are placed on the court docket as quickly as possible. Most courts are backed up, through no fault of their own, with a lot of cases, particularly in family court and criminal court. This may result in dates being sent farther ahead that defendants would like. In such a case, the option is to wait.

For the most part, you wait 270 days. The law regarding "speedy trial" considers the degree to which the court dockets are jammed up with a long list of cases.

It depends on the type of court, if it is a family court, there must be a lot of cases so you date is being delayed. You can not do anything about this. You will have to wait.

if you didn't go to court for 270 days you can go see the judge and explain why you did not make your court date and give him a good reason

You can't do anything if the wait is a result of a clogged court docket. Your right to a speedy trial does not mean you skip to the front of the line.
