If there are just a few hand picking them works. If you catch them early in the season they are easier to get rid of and a good insecticide works well. Adult are harder to kill but Talstar One is recommended giving good results. You can use it on many other plants and it's safe to use on buildings.

The only definite and most effective way to get rid of bag worms is by hand. This must be done in the fall or summer. You must remove the bag worm from the tree and make sure to smash all the essential parts. The easiest way is to pick the bag worms off the tree and burn them.

Three options: 1) biological - certain birds are natural enemies and feed on larvae. Will get some but not all. 2) mechanical - winter, fall and spring bags can be hand picked and destroyed 3) chemical - small larvae can be destroyed by insecticides. Larger larvae are not killed easily.

Bagworms can be a devastating pest. Minor infestations can be controlled by picking the bags off of the tree. Major infestations, or those that have infected many trees, will need treatment. Several insecticides are labeled for Bagworm control. Two applications should be made, one in early to mid June and the other around July 4th.

A horticultural spray should take care of this problem. They are a common problem for ever green trees. You might want to just spray raid and spray it constantly to prevent this problem from occurring frequently.
