Mountain laurels are great for a smaller tree, and live oaks are great if you want a large tree! Both are very easy to grow. I think they grow the fastest when they are planted from a 5 gallon container. Ones grown in a container usually adapt the easiest. Bare root trees usually go thru a shock period.

Most of the pine species will survive quite nicely in georgia with plenty of watering. The spruce is not as hardy but will be fine given plenty of water.

Their are many different heat resistant evergreens. Some of these include Deodar Cedar, both weeping and dwarfed. Others are Colorado Spruce, Blue Spruce, and Norway spruce.

The Pittosporum evergreen, a shrub will work well in warmer climates, just make sure to protect in cold snaps. It loves the sun and is tolerant to droughts. The Yaupon Holly shrub can take some shade and can also survive droughts. Yaupons should be pruned in the fall and the spring.
