You can leave the hair if you are not going out. For a night out use a color shampoo that washes out so your hair will look tidy. Using a six week color sometimes helps blend in the roots so it does not look messy. Keep hair trimmed and conditioned, layering helps to blend the hair.

There is this thing called Color Remover that you can use to get rid of the unnatural colors in your hair. Or you can get semi-permanent dye that is close to your color of hair and dye over it. You can also get semi-permanent close to the highlights and touch it up.

Hairstylist... hope for feedback. The best way to grow out highlights you already have without them looking ugly is keep body in your hair so your roots blend well. If you are planning on getting highlights that can grow out without being ugly, don't put any at the part in your hair. Its all about the roots showing.

Go to your hairdresser and ask them to dye your hair its natural color. If you don't want to dye all of it, ask them to dye over the pre-existing highlights with a color more similar to that of your natural color. This way it'll grow out unnoticeable.
