I have kept trimmed baby carrots in the frige fresh for three months with no problem. I store them on a shelf in the plastic bag they came in. They did not spoil, grow fungus, or get slimey. I am not sure what these other people are doing?

me too! at least 2 months, sometimes adding a little water to the bag if they start to dry out.  add a comment

same here, carrots seem to last forever for me. maybe it has to do with the fact that they are baby carrots? don\'t see why that would make a difference though, since baby carrots are just cut regular carrots...  add a comment

Just FYI, baby carrots are processed and have been bleached and re-colored to make them all look the same. This process eliminates a majority of the nutrients. The less nutrients in food, the longer it takes for mold to grow.  add a comment

Carrots last about two weeks in the fridge. Maybe more if they are kept in a perforated bag that contains some moisture. They will also keep longer if they are not stored in the same drawer as fruit like apples/pears that give off ethylene (which carrots absorb, causing them to ripen). Cut any tops off the carrots before storing.

you have to cut the front and back pieces of the carrot little bit.if you keep in that way it will be fresh more than 10 days.It will be fresh. If you won't cut the front and back pieces it won't fresh more than 5 days.so you cut the pieces and then keep in refrigerator.

With proper care, they should stay fresh for at least two weeks. Cut off the green tops if they are still on them. To help the carrots retain their moisture while stored, wrap them in paper towels and place them in a tightly sealed plastic bag in the coldest part of your refrigerator.
