Gingivitis is usually caused by not flossing. You could start flossing and rinsing with a mouth wash. I would suggest that you talk to your dentist about your concern and they should be able to start you off in the right direction. The main thing is flossing though, I would start doing that right away.

Generally, gingivitis can be addressed with regular prophylaxis (cleanings) by a dental professional, combined with a meticulous home care regimen which may include brushing, flossing and rinsing (e.g. Listerine,Peridex).

In order to get rid of gingivitis, you must floss twice daily. You must also brush your teeth and gargle with mouthwash twice daily. This cycle of care must be done in the morning upon waking and in the evening before one goes to bed. Consistency is key to get rid of gingivitis.

A deep cleaning at the dentist is the best way but you can use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste after brushing your teeth normally.
