Choose a place for your jasmine that's in full sun to partial shade. The soil should be kept moist for best blooms. Plants should be kept indoors in the winter unless in a warm climate. Plant away from competing plants. These plants should be fertilized in spring, and need 4-6 inches of mulch around base of plant for moisture retention.

Be sure to water only when the soil is dry. It is susceptible to root rot. Use fertilizer with high phosporous content. Cover plant if temperature goes below 45 degrees.

Mulch the area around the plant. Pull back the mulch in early spring and fertilize. Then replace the mulch. Water when the soil becomes dry around plant.

Make sure you plant it in the right location. Water before noon so it uses water well. Enrich the plant with required soils. Take care of it like your baby
