How can I check to see whose name is register on a gun?

You will need to contact the police department on your city and request a gun check. Not sure if is readily available to the general public.

Depending on you location it would vary. Mainly anyone inside the United States would go to there local police department. There is also the other Federal Agencies that would check for you to find out if and who the gun belongs to. Each and every gun has a it has a serial number located unless it has been filed off.
