The Accu Check Compact has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages include: back up pump, large reservoir, backlit dispay, and reversible screen. Disadvantages: lower basal increments and lower basal rates. One will ultimately need to decide for themselves using the help of a doctor and product testimonials. Try checking the internet for product reviews.

The name "Accu Chek Compact" implies it is compact, but it is a little bulky. However, I really like the preloaded test strip feature. Overall, I am very pleased.

My father also has diabetes and really likes his compact Accu Chek. He found the equipment he had before was too bulky to take out of the house.

I have a relative with diabetes who uses this and likes it a lot. It gives a good reading and isn't heavy at all so you can bring it anywhere.
