Can you help me troubleshoot my hdd camcorder that is turning itself off?

Check to see if you have a setting in the menu for an automatic shut off. That is what it sounds like unless the battery is dead or no good. If the battery is old you may be able to replace it and that should help also with it shutting off on you.

The first thing to do is check to see if it is plugged in or running on battery. If it is on battery, the battery may be low on capacity.

The battery may have expired. Recharchable batteris are only designed to last 8 months to a year. Instead of spending alot of money on other troubleshooting ideas, start with the least expensive first.

This could possibly be caused by one of two things. Either the battery is going bad or there is some auto-power off feature shutting it down when not in use.
