Will lime as a soil additive enhance the green of my St. Augustine grass?

Lime is inexpensive and nontoxic, but can only do good where the soil is too acidic. If acid soil is keeping your grass from getting green, the lime will reverse the acidity and liberate nutrients in the soil so they can move up the roots of the grass and help it to green.

Lime is used to regulate the PH levels of your soil. Lime is used to neutralize acidic soil. Lime is used for treatment of soil and not grass, however the grass is using the soil as a growing medium so you would need to take care of your soil. Test your soil first.

If your yard is pale and/or yellow, your soil is probably acidic and could benefit from a dose of lime. A yard with the correct pH levels will have healthy, deep green grass.

One of the benefits of lime is that it causes the soil to become more porous which allows it to hold more moisture. A healthier lawn means a better hue.

I would take a clump of lawn dirt and take it to the nursery and have it tested. They will tell you what nutrients you need to enrich your lawn.

Sure.Even I too heard from many places that adding lime will ehnace the green of grass.I myself tried with some type of plants.

No,it's not true.. Lime has a lot of properties but not this one.. The best thing that you can do is to put water on that grass daily.
