Will a DSL filter improve the range of cordless phones?

My new set is 6 GHz, and the range is half or less the old 2.4 set.

Most definitely. In fact, there are some cordless phones out there that interfer greatly with a DSL connection. Once the filter is installed you will notice a marked improvment in the quality of your phone including less static, squealing, and also some caller ID issues. A DSL filter should be installed on every phone in the household.

Absolutely not. A DSL filter would be irrelevant to your issue. Simple fact: higher frequency radiation (6GHz vs 2.4) requires more energy to produce. You can either have better audio quality or longer range. To have both would require a larger battery.

Without a DSL filter a phone might not work properly. The filter's range refers to the frequency range of phones that use it. No, it will not improve/decrease the range.

You require a DSL filter when using DSL and phones on the same line. If you have DSL and a phone on the same line, the phone and your internet connection probably won't work at all. If you don't use DSL, a filter won't help. Lower frequency means more range.

No. A DSL filter will only affect your DSL connection. It has nothing to do with wireless. You may have a bad phone.
