Will a dart gun kill a deer?

A dart gun can kill a deer if you hit it in the right spot, such as in its eye. However in most cases a gun will do no serious damage to an animal of this size. The only way to really kill an animal this size with such a weapon would be if it was poisoned.

A dart gun, tranquilizer gun, or capture gun is a non-lethal gun used to sedate or tranquilize an animal. The dart gun is generally used as a trapping method. When an animal is injected with a dart it must be monitered due to the fact that large animals are sensitive to stress which could result in the animals death.

Well, if you get a dart that has plenty of poison on it, I think it could probably kill whatever you wanted!

It is possible but unlikely. I guess you could put one through the eye into the brain. To bring down a deer you need to do some serious damage to the vital organs and that takes either a substantial projectile and/or a high velocity projectile. If the dart is poisoned it would be more likely but that is illegal.

It depends on the size of the deer. Deers are like ninjas, they're very hard to sneak up on, but if you did sneak up on a small of deer, like the endangered Florida Key Deer; and you aimed for it's eye ball, you could probably kill it was a dart gun.

If the dart goes into the heart or an artery it will most likely kill the deer. If the deer does not die it will suffer terrible injuries which is not very humane. The dart may hit the leg which will cause the deer to limp and more likely be attacked by another animal.

According to the size and weight and kind of dart and the air force behind it.Also Very important is the size of the dart gun longer is better.It would take A direct eye shot to drop it and that could be a long drawn out wait and chase.It would take multiple dart's and a lot of lung work.
