Why will my Murray Lawn mower not turn off?

I have to let my lawn mower run out of gas in order to get it to stop running.

This is most likely because of a faulty throttle cable or ignition. If it is a riding lawn mover the electric start ignition should be looked at. It could be faulty, in this case a new one must be installed. If it is a push mover the cable running to the throttle, or the kill switch should be examined.

You don't have to pay me if you don't like the answer. But I can help you not waste your gas. Just unplug your spark plug.
