The ps2 slim using an external power supply. Check all cables and test another power supply. If still does not work, contact sony for further information

There could be a number of reasons you playStation isn't getting any power. One reason could be the power cord connected to the back of the system is lose and need to be pushed in sluggly, another reason is there could be a short in the actual power cord.

First check to make sure that your cables and plugs are in the correct places. Second check your power source, try changing wall plugs to rule out a back connection. Last, the unit may need serviced.

More than likely you need to replace the systems AC adapter. After a lot of use, these adapters can burn out and they need to be replaced. Some models where sent out with a defect in the AC adapter. If your serial codes match Sony's defect list, they will send you a new one free of charge.

The power outlet on the wall might be dead. The power cable might be damaged. The power cable might not be properly connected. The power supply could be fried too.
