If your female dog has not been spayed and is not pregnant, she may be in heat. The bleeding will last a week or so. If she has been spayed or you believe she is pregnant, you should have the dog seen by a vet immediately.

If the dog has not been spayed and it is bleeding vaginally, then the dog is most likely in heat, in which case you should not be concerned. This heat cycle should take approximately 3 weeks with 6 months in between cycles. They do make dog diapers for this, or I would recommend having the dog spade.

It depends on where your dog is bleeding. If your dog has not been spayed she may be menstruating. This is normal for dogs that have not been spayed. If she is bleeding from a cut or scrape, you should take him or her to the veterinarian. They can determine if the bleeding is serious.

Most of the time if she is bleeding from her female part she is in heat. This usally occurs in small dogs anywhere from 4-6 months of age. IN larger breeds you can guess anywhere between 5-7 months. This will happen twice a year. I would be best to spay her. Good luck.
