Why is it important to be a flosser?

Isn't brushing enough?

Brushing will only clean the tops of your teeth. Flossing cleans between the teeth where food settles. This causes bad breath from rotting food. Flossing also makes your mouth feel fresher and leaves your teeth feeling cleaner. Floss first and brush after and you will notice the difference. If you use a water pic that works also.

Plaque-causing bacteria build up in your mouth over the course of the day. By brushing your teeth, you can remove these bacteria from the surfaces of your teeth; however, brushing doesn't sufficiently remove bacteria from between your teeth. Flossing removes these build-ups and reduces the risk of cavities between teeth.

Brushing is not enough because brush bristles generally do not get into the small spaces between teeth, the way that floss does. Floss helps to ensure adequate plaque removal, which helps to reduce the amount of decay-causing bacteria in your mouth.
