Why is ice white?

Ice is actually not white -- nor are most animals whose fur appears to be white. Ice is clear, and therefore reflects all light, appearing to be white. Did you know: things are not the color they appear -- apparent color is the light an object does NOT absorb!

Ice is not white. Pure ice is actually clear. It is the reflections off other objects that may make it appear white.
