Because there's more to being healthy then being thin. Some people are "skinny-fat" which means they are thin, but have so little muscle mass that they have more fat then necessary. Also, exercise makes your heart healthier and your bones stronger, as well as improving overall quality of life.

You should exercise for other reasons beyond controlling your weight. You should exercise to have more strength. Being stronger gives you more options in certain circumstances. You should exercise to improve your lung capacity. It also helps your overall health ( cholesterol ) and gives you more energy.

Exercise is important not only to keep unwanted weight off, but to keep your muscles firm, strong and maintain your muscle balance. Working out is also a healthy, effective way to manage stress and reduce anxiety. Exercise is good for you health because it also helps to improve and maintain the functioning of your immune system.
