Well it is probably in the delay setting because someone set it that way. If you look at the manual it tells you how to get the default settings.

Your dishwasher may stay in the 4 hour delay setting because it needs to be manually moved to the next setting. Unfortunately a piece of dirt may be affecting it.

The button may be stuck and it keeps telling it to do that. Try unplugging the machine and that may reset it back to normal and stop this form happening.

I would say you are being to easy on the switch. Sometimes when changing settings the switch doesn't quite get into the slot. This results in said issue.

You may need to change the settings of your dishwasher. It probably stays in the 4 hour delay because that is what you have it set to and it has to be changed manually instead of it changing on its own. Call your local appliance store and ask for maintenance to help you.

The buttons are probably just stuck. Try opening the display panel and resetting the button manually, that's what was wrong with my Kitchenaid.

It may stay in the 4 hour delay setting because something is blocking the button, possibly dirt of some sort.

You may need to set to another delay setting. Because your dishwasher may pre set to 4 hour delay. You need to change it manually.

The delay setting may be due to the fact that whenever the homemaker was out of the premises and may be arrived in late and so that it facilitate her to supervise the functioning of the dishwasher properly and anything she wants to add on to it that may be carried out so that she can have the full control.
