The fig tree probably has yellow leaves because it did not get enough water. It could also be autumn, when most trees' leaves turn yellow.

Most likely the fig tree is getting too much water. Either you are overwatering or else the soil does not have enough drainage.

Yellow leaves usually means too little water, temperatures that are too hot. You will need to water more deeply, to reach lower roots. These roots may be dry,and the leaves support are the ones that are yellow.

Not enough sun, too much water or an insect infestation in the leaves or the roots could cause yellow leaves in a fig tree.
