Why does my drain smell?

I just got a new faucet, but the drain smells. I don't know where it's coming from.

When a faucet is replaced, the actual pipes and drain are not (although the stopper or plate might be). Thus, you still have everything down there that you did before replacing it, and something lodged in the pipe could be causing the odor.

There is something that has been caught in your drain trap ( the U shape under the sink ) that is causing the smell. Your options are to try to flush it away with hot water, pouring a small amount of bleach down the drain, or you may have to remove the trap and clear whatever is trapped there.

You probably have a build up of slug in your drain, like hair, grease ect, try putting in a liquid plummer type of product and that should stop it.
