Why does my 4-year-old like to poop his pants?

If your child does this all the time, you might speak to his doctor. If he's doing it only when he's with you, it is a control issue. It probably upsets you greatly, wrecks your day and ties up your time, which is precisely the point.

i wouldn't say your 4 year old is liking the fact of pooping in his pants the fact is most of all children are peeing or pooping in their pants for the attention or maybe in fact that they get to busy and it leaves there little brains that they actually have to use the potty.

If he is pooping his pants while playing, he just doesn't want to be bothered to go to the bathroom. If not, he is probably looking for attention.

If it's a control issue, just don't react, if he gets no reaction, he has no reason to continue cause there is no payoff for him.
