Why do you need highbeams?

High beams are convenient for when you are on a forest road where you are the only one and there are no street lights. You need the beams to spot the curves on the narrow road and watch out for the trees. In the city, high beams are not often used due to the fact that there are enough lights.

High beams are supposed to be used at any time more light is needed.You only need to go to your dims when you are following a car at a reasonably close distance or when a car is approaching you in the opposite direction.
