Depending on the intended use of the metal, it is more likely to rust if exposed to the elements. If it is used in a high traffic area, it is more susceptible to being dented, bent, and possibly resulting in an injury to the user.

Heavy metal music's violent and artificial emotions, raging vocals, insistent rhythmic pounding, loud tortured guitar sounds, heavy bass and drums, and circus-like showmanship are not designed to appeal to certain listeners. Metal's roots are in the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s which were a time of social unrest and upheaval. Metal is marketed as an outlet for yoked rebellion.
