A good amount of people for one don't have the money to spend to change the audio system in there car. For others at least now a days cars come equipped with pretty "high end" stereos. For the most part however, most people don't care about how the audio in there car sounds because there only in it from a-b.

It has to do with individual preferences. Some people truly don't care about the quality. Others believe that a good-quality replacement sterio is not within their budget. Still others don't want to be bothered with installation of custom equipment, or don't know where to have the installation done.

For many people a car is just a means of transportation. Some are satisfied with factory sound, and many simply don't know how to swap out the stereo for replacement.

Most people don't want to go through the hassle of having a stereo installed or think the quality is fine. Also a car with an aftermarket stereo is almost always worth less to an average person than one with an aftermarket head-unit.
