I would immediately seek an examination by your primary care physician if you believe you are having liver pain. Depending on your health history and exam findings, the doctor can best prescribe a course of treatment for you. Hopefully you are experiencing an intercostal muscle strain which can be very painful and mimic liver dysfunction. Get checked soon.

If you suffer from a sore liver and ribs, it may be due to a hernia. It could also be an ulcer that has ruptured and is infecting other organs. Additionally, you may simply be sleeping incorrectly, or for periods of time that are too long.

Sore ribs could be caused by a great many things such as broken or bruised bones. If that is not the case, something could be seriously wrong with your internal organs, and you should go to a doctor if the pain persists.

This could possibly be a sign of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Your large intestine comes up under your right rib, curves and goes across your abdomen and then curves downward under your left rib to desend. You can also ask your doctor to do a liver enzymes test to rule out any liver dsyfunction or disease.

I would go get a CT scan to make sure that everything is alright with your system. There is no saying as to why that could be.
