Do you suffer from allergies or chronic respiratory infections? The amount of mucus build up in your sinus cavity might be the culprit. There is also a small chance you might have some kind of malformation in your nose, which can only be confirmed by a physician.

The pathways above the palate are deeply convoluted and can easily become blocked or slowed, and this can cause difficulty in breathing as well as provide a place for infections to settle in and cause health problems. A sinus infection would block breathing even more than before infection so an impeded airway should be medically treated.

You need to get checked out by your doctor. It could be something bad. Have it checked out though just to be sure.
