Why did they outlaw paddle swats at school?

They outlawed paddles because of the new views on ethical, humane treatment. Also, some parents would have a major problems with teachers disciplining their children physically about issues they are not aware of or without their consent.

As the year went by child abuse came into the spotlight and what was the acceptable punishment for a child in school and at home. They decided discipline was best left up to the parents as some of the teachers were getting a bit out of line with the paddle. Basically, it's just wrong.

One simple word "lawsuits! " It is usually not good for anyone to paddle a kid that is not their parent, and even spanking by parents is frowned upon my many in today's society.
